Geology students pipped to top spot in Geoscience competition
At a special event hosted by Blue Coat, four of our A Level geologists competed in the National Schools Geoscience Competition on Monday, 21st January. Our team chose to ask ‘Should there be a price on Natural History?’ and, in doing so, explored the trade of Moroccan Trilobites.
A perfect speech memorised and flawlessly delivered by Ollie and Henry saw them off to a good start, followed by a quiz and the presentation of Will and Michael’s top notch poster. With less than 1% in it, they were pipped to the top spot by ‘The Geology of Wine’ presented by a team from Radley College. We couldn’t be prouder of our boys. They represented the department and the school with their hard work, professionalism and commitment. Thanks to Mark Roberts and the Thames Valley Regional Geology Group for inviting us to compete. – Mrs Finucane, Head of Geology
