Results and Destinations
The academic results at Reading Blue Coat are first-rate, and the last three years of A Level results have been the best in the history of the School. In 2023-24, 53% of all entries were awarded A*-A grades while nine students achieved all A* grades. At a time when the educational landscape is changing, including the introduction of linear exams and new syllabuses, we are delighted that our pupils continue to flourish in the Sixth Form. Indeed, whilst these results are important, the destinations of our leavers are also notable, especially with over 90% of students securing a place at their first-choice university. Six students secured places to study at Oxford and Cambridge universities with others heading to Bath, Bristol, Durham, Exeter, King’s College London, Imperial College London and Nottingham.
GCSE results at Reading Blue Coat have been remarkably consistent over the past five years. In 2023-24, 70% of results were at grade 7 or higher, including 47% of results at the top 8 or 9 mark. We are delighted that our boys continue to perform so well.
