CCF Army Section: Exercise Eagle Fledgling
We are thrilled to share the success of the RBC Combined Cadet Force’s first exercise of the year, Exercise Eagle Fledgling, held in May 2024. Blessed with favourable weather, this weekend provided our cadets with a fantastic opportunity to build essential skills in organisation, independence, and leadership, while also fostering camaraderie among them.
Throughout the weekend, our cadets engaged in various dynamic activities, including patrolling and reconnaissance missions. These tasks were critical for gathering intelligence on enemy positions, assessing their equipment, morale, and training levels, which informed their strategies for the following day’s assaults. The cadets displayed impressive coordination and tactical acumen, organising fire teams and receiving instruction on fire control orders.
In a realistic and immersive environment, cadets fired a total of 1800 blank rounds, with some utilising smoke grenades for camouflage and cover. They established a Harbour, prepared meals from army 24-hour ration packs, and conducted patrols to defend the area, putting theory into practice and showcasing remarkable growth from start to finish.
The external training staff were highly impressed with the cadets’ performance and conduct. Our cadets should take immense pride in their achievements this weekend.
We eagerly anticipate seeing their continued development in future training exercises and at the summer camp. Well done, RBC cadets!
