Anti-Bullying Week and the Initiatives at RBC
Anti-Bullying Week is a crucial initiative that not only raises awareness about the detrimental effects of bullying but also celebrates the efforts of those working to create a safe and inclusive space for everyone.
Ms Plowman, Head of Year 10 and teacher of history at Blue Coat, has been a driving force behind the school’s commitment to creating a school community with a culture of empathy where students can learn and thrive. With a genuine passion for the well-being of her students, Miss Plowman goes above and beyond to ensure that each student feels seen, heard, and supported.
Ms Plowman, and a passionate group of students have been diligently working to earn the prestigious Diana Award badges as part of the Anti-Bullying Ambassador Programme. This youth-led programme equips students and staff with the tools needed to tackle any bullying behaviour and create a safer, kinder school community. Named after Princess Diana, the badges symbolise a commitment to creating positive change and addressing bullying behaviour. The students were delighted to recently receive their second badge – The Respect Award – having led five whole school events focused on making our school a safer, kinder and more inclusive place to learn. Events included running a poster competition to promote diversity and creating a Respect Charter with input from the whole school.
As we celebrate Anti-Bullying Week at RBC, Ms Plowman would like to thank Jed C (Yr 9), Max R (Yr 9), Lorenzo dF (Yr 0), Emaad K (Yr 10), Man Him L (Yr 10), Oscar T (Yr 10), AJ W (Yr 10) and Jack W (Yr 10), for their hard work and dedication.
We would also like acknowledge the efforts of Ms Plowman and her commitment to creating a school culture rooted in kindness. Together, we can raise awareness of bullying, one act of kindness at a time.
