Blue skies for our skiers in Italy
Over the February half term, 33 boys, three girls and four staff members enjoyed a fantastic week skiing in San Sicario in Italy. The snow conditions were great and we were lucky enough to enjoy four blue sky sunny days, which were a great antidote to the gloomy first half of term we had in England.
We stayed in the hotel built for the snowboarders in the 2006 Winter Olympics which added some inspiration to our skiing and we could see the bobsleigh run and the biathlon shooting range from the dining room.
At the end of the week our six beginners had all achieved bronze 2star awards, and Tom Aston and Theo Clarke in the expert group were both awarded gold 3star, the highest award in ski school – a remarkable achievement, especially considering they are in Year 7.
The instructors, hotel staff and coach drivers all commented on the great behaviour of the group, and trip leaders Miss van der Werff and Mr Cook thanked them for being such good ambassadors for Blue Coat.
