Outstanding Performance at National Schools Regatta 2024

We had an exceptional showing at this year’s National Schools Regatta, with 55 of our students competing across seven events. The weekend showcased their dedication and skill, yielding impressive results.

Year 9 Events

Our Year 9 students started the competition strong with two Octo’s and a Quad participating in both the A and B events:

  • Quad: Finished a respectable 44th.
  • A8x+: Placed 5th in the C final, ranking 17th overall out of 29 crews.
  • B8x+: Secured 3rd in the C final, ranking 15th overall.

Year 10 – 13 Events

Saturday was a big day for our Year 10 to 13 students, featuring our first 8+ and a 4+ for the Year 10s, along with our senior second eight:

  • Year 10 4+: Delivered an impressive performance in the time trial, finishing 28th.
  • Year 10 8+: Achieved 4th in the time trial and 5th in their A final, beating some strong competition, and marking the highest-ranking finish in the school’s history for this category.
  • Senior 2nd VIII: Competed in the B final of their event, finishing a very commendable 4th.

Our first VIII had a strong presence:

  • First VIII Time Trial: Finished 12th.
  • Repechage: Placed 2nd, advancing to Sunday’s A/B semi-finals.
  • Semi-finals: Finished 6th in their semi-final and 6th in the B final after a promising first 1500 metres.

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend filled with outstanding performances from our students. We now eagerly anticipate more summer racing, including the Henley Women’s Regatta at the end of June and the Henley Royal Regatta in July.
