Year 11 achieves 2nd Dan at Taekwondo
Year 11 Tim Kami Hawkins achieved his 2nd Dan black belt in Taekwondo at the beginning of October, after a challenging, intensive three-day event, which was presided over by the Grand Master of the UK Taekwondo Association and all Senior Masters from the UK.
Tim had to pass a number of assessments in patterns, sparring, special techniques and breaking – including breaking a wooden board with his foot held at head height. Tim trains for approximately six hours per week with Thames Valley Taekwondo Club, where he has trained for the past eight years. He competes in national competitions and has, over the years, won gold, silver and bronze medals. A remarkable achievement.
