9 8. January 2023 – Congratulations to our RBC U14As – County champions – who secured a confident victory at the Berkshire County Cup Final against Bohunt School. Final Score: Win 29-10. 9. February 2023 – We were proud to present the smash hit production ‘Footloose The Musical’ – a modern take on the 1980s classic screen sensation which took the world by storm. With cutting edge modern choreography, the performance sizzled with spirit, fun and an exceptionally talented young cast. A huge success! Congratulations to all involved. 10. March 2023 – A group of 11 students ranging fromYears 9 to 12 participated in the International Haileybury Model United Nations , which was a new but exhilarating experience for some students. It was delightful to see many students reconnect with old MUN friends and develop new friendships internationally and two students received the ‘Highly Commended Delegate’ award representing Tunisia. 11. April 2023 – Mr Lamacraft took 19 courageous Year 12’s on the notorious Snowdon 6 Challenge . This has never been successfully completed by a school group before and involves summitting Snowdon three times via different routes. In total the route covers c40km and involves c2750mof ascent. It is considered more difficult than the 3 Peaks Challenge as although the height gain and distance is comparable, there is no respite. It is a significant undertaking. Well done Year 12s – a truly inspirational performance! 12. May 2023 – The Drama Department impressed audienceswith awhole school production of William Golding’s Lord of the Flies . A cautionary tale that poses the idea that when typical social order is suspended, we are all just savages. With a cast of 25 students from Years 7-12, this exciting, atmospheric open-air production was a triumph. 13. June 2023 – Another action packed Activities Week before the end of term included dinghy sailing in Weymouth, wave-hunting in Croyde, Devon and abseiling in the Peak District to name but a few of the adventures for students....and staff!! 9 11 10 12 What’s been happening at RBC 13
