We are defined by the vision of one man, Richard Aldworth but we are truly united by our shared ambition to make Blue Coat be the best it can be. Our aim is simple; to increase the number of Foundation Scholars in the School from 14 to 28 at any one given time and to double the School’s endowment from 4 million pounds to 8 million pounds. There are a number of ways you might choose to donate. It could be that you give a one off gift or perhaps you might give a regular monthly or annual donation as some have already chosen to do. Whether you choose to give £10 a month or £100 a month, you will be making a difference over (we hope) the course of many years. Some have already chosen to follow in Richard Aldworth’s footsteps and leave the School a gift in their Will, safe in the knowledge that their legacy, like Aldworth’s, will live on for many years to come and as such they all become members of the Richard Aldworth Society. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have already given a gift or pledged a gift to the School. Your generosity and commitment is inspiring and it is my great hope that many others will follow your example. Now you may be thinking, why should we give to this cause and not others? What about the terrible situation in Ukraine or many of the other worthwhile causes that are out there? Firstly, I would point out that the community has already rallied together to do their bit to help with the situation in Ukraine and will continue to do so as things progress.
