I was very pleased to have been nominated by David Woodward and subsequently to have received this award from The Aldworth Lodge for my voluntary work supporting prostate cancer patients through running support groups, presentations, and one-to-one support, and also for raising prostate cancer awareness, encouraging men to get themselves checked. The financial Award will be passed to Prostate Cancer UK to support their work in combating prostate cancer and improving the lives of prostate cancer patients. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. More than 49,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that’s 134 men every day. Every 44 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that’s more than 12,000 men every year. 1 in 8 men (1 in 4 black men) will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Around 400,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer. Anyone concerned about prostate cancer is welcome to contact me. Though we could not host our ordinary service with all of our CCF pupils, we are very proud to to have held our minute’s silence for those who lost their lives to war. #RememberanceDay @ReadingBlues • 12 March 2020 On St David’s Day on 1 March, proud Welshman @DrKevinMagill 1 hosted an assembly for our Year 7s, during which he spoke with passion about ‘all things Welsh’. The boys learned the basics of the Welsh language, as well as the importance that Saint David holds in Welsh history. 2 8
