This week forty Year 9 and 10 students spent four fabulous days in Munich. The trip was packed with both cultural and linguistic experiences. Highlights included a tour of the iconic Allianz Arena (unfortunately not on matchday!), fairy tale-like Neuschwanstein castle, the charming village of Oberammergau and a guided tour of Munich with a focus on the Third Reich. However, with temperatures hitting 30 degrees the students best bits probably include splashing around in an outdoor swimming pool, complete with slides and diving boards! There was plenty of opportunity to speak German to our staff and to locals, especially as students were set a task to purchase food for a picnic. Students were able to learn new vocab and develop confidence in a location few of them had visited before. It was a very successful trip that left everyone with great memories and new skills.
