Survivor dies day after Holocaust talk

Holocaust survivor Harry Bibring came into school last year to gave a talk to our Year 9s (current Year 10s) and our Sixth Form Historians. He was able to share his experience of the Holocaust – the persecution he faced in his home country, his trip on the Kindertransport and the loss of his mother in a concentration camp. The pupils found his insight invaluable. Finally, the history department were able to enjoy lunch with Harry where he shared his life after the war and everything he was able to accomplish. He was a kind man who was able to overcome the huge suffering he experienced at a young age, to accomplish a huge amount. Finally, in his later life he was an ambassador for the Holocaust Educational Trust and was able to visit numerous schools to inform and educate future generations. As a department we are extremely grateful for his visit last year. – Miss Plowman
