Dr Sarah Langdon
Having grown up in Reading and attended school in Theale, Dr Langdon moved on to study Chemistry at the University of Durham. During her degree, she spent a year working in the pharmaceutical industry for Pfizer. Upon completing her degree Sarah moved to South London and completed a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at The Institute of Cancer Research. Following her PhD, Sarah took up her first teaching post at Hampton School where she also completed her PGCE. Sarah relocated back to Reading in 2014 and begun teaching Chemistry at Reading Blue Coat in 2017. Her favourite part of her job has been working in the Sixth Form team as an Assistant Head of Year and she is excited to be starting in her new role as Head of Girls from September 2020.
Sarah volunteers for a Duke of Edinburgh Award group at Wokingham Youth Centre and enjoys reading and knitting in her spare time. She runs the school’s TEDxYouth program and enjoys helping with costumes and make-up for the school’s productions. Sarah took part in the 2018 expedition to our partner school in Ghana and has been leading the school’s celebrations of International Women’s Day.
