Aldworth Partnership
Reading Blue Coat School prides itself on offering opportunities for all pupils to engage in meaningful service to others in the local and wider community. The Aldworth Partnership is the umbrella term for this work and its primary aims are to serve, fundraise, and donate. We place a great deal of emphasis on these activities being mutually beneficial to all parties. Pupils gain real benefit by experiencing philanthropic work whilst they are at Reading Blue Coat, developing an awareness of the world outside of school and a strong sense of service.
Opportunities to Serve
Opportunities to serve are available across a wide range of activities including helping with supporting volunteers in local charities. We collaborate very closely with nearby primary and secondary schools, running sporting, creative, and academic groups to support the education of others. Examples of in-school events include harvest festival food bank donations, the redistribution of second-hand sports equipment, and the collection of Christmas presents for people in crisis.
Maintaining a Dynamic and Pupil-Led Partnership
It is important the Aldworth Partnership remains dynamic and pupil-led, with opportunities to join the committee, organise and run fundraisers, and decide on the charities the school partners with. We are always open to new suggestions to sustainably develop the Aldworth Partnership and extend the mutually beneficial work we undertake.
