Headmaster’s Start of Term Assembly, January 2021

As we enter our third National Lockdown, Headmaster Mr Pete Thomas addresses the School community from his study in the first virtual assembly of the 2021 Spring Term.

Mr Thomas has recently been reading the Harry Potter books with his youngest son, and from our own magical school to another, he has noticed similarities between the problems faced, the relationships that blossom and more importantly, the universal significance of doing the right thing. Nobody embodies this more in the Potter-verse than Neville Longbottom; from an unassuming first year who stands up to his closest friends in The Philosopher’s Stone to a noble and brave seventh year in The Deathly Hallows.
