Alongside excellent teaching in the classroom, Blue Coat provides a wealth of opportunity to engage with the joys of wider academia. At every stage of their school journey students can choose to partake in engaging and enriching academic activities. From Lego Robotics to Model United Nations, from Linguistics Olympiad to Dissection Club, there is truly something for everyone.

Students are taught the vital academic skills of research, referencing and source analysis from the very start. They complete a cross curricular project in Year 7 and 8 with an individual mentor who supports them with this vital part of academic development.

In the Sixth Form they can apply to be an Academic Scholar, which provides individualised support along with fantastic developmental opportunities.

At lunchtime, in the activities sessions, and afterschool, academia is not restricted to the classroom at Blue Coat, it permeates everything we do.
