A Remarkable Season for RBC Hockey

It has been a fantastic year for school hockey, marked not only by success on the pitch but also by the commitment, enthusiasm and positive attitude demonstrated by every student involved in the programme. Whether in training sessions or competitive fixtures, students have shown exceptional dedication throughout the season.

There have been a number of standout achievements across the year groups. The U12A team enjoyed a superb campaign, securing qualification for the National Sisters n Sport Cup, while the U13A team progressed impressively and will compete in the National Sisters n Sport Plate next term.

The U14A team produced a truly historic season, winning every league match and being crowned Berkshire League Champions for the first time in the school’s history. Their consistency, teamwork and resilience set a new benchmark for future teams.

At senior level, the 1st XI also made history by lifting the Berkshire County Cup for the first time, before progressing through to the Regional stages – a significant achievement and a testament to the squad’s determination and leadership.

Depth across the hockey programme has been another key strength. The U12B team achieved an impressive 86% win rate, closely followed by the U13B team with 75%, highlighting the talent and commitment present across all squads.

It has also been encouraging to see strong participation from girls in Years 7 and 8, both in midweek training and Saturday fixtures. This level of engagement bodes extremely well for the future of hockey at the school.

Looking ahead, the Berkshire County In2 Hockey tournaments await the U12A and U13A teams, alongside the next stages of the Sisters n Sport National competitions for the U12A, U13A and U14A squads.

The school would like to thank all players, parents and staff for their continued support throughout the season. We look forward to building on this year’s success in the seasons to come.
